  Fish Camp Fire and Rescue Association Barbecue
ANNUAL FISH CAMP FIRE RESCUE FUNDRAISER SET FOR SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 BBQ, LIVE AUCTION & RAFFLE The Annual Fish Camp Fire Rescue Association Barbeque and Auction will be held Sunday, September 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Camp Green Meadows in Fish Camp. Fish Camp Fire Rescue and U.S. Forest Service engines will be available (pending calls to current fires) to explore. The kids will love climbing inside the engine. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will include tri-tip, chicken, bean, coleslaw, bread and dessert. Meal tickets (including dessert) are $10 each. The live auction and raffle will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Auction items will include home decor, fire safety and household maintenance supplies. Raffle tickets are $20 per book of 20, with multiple chances to win gift certificates to restaurants, retail, lodging and recreational activities in the Fish Camp/Oakhurst region. Camp Green Meadows is located in Fish Camp, just north of the General Store and Pond. Look for the yellow sign for White Chief Mountain Lodge on the right side of the road. Make a sharp right at the sign and continue up the hill, following the signs for the BBQ until you reach Camp Green Meadows. Camping Information For information on nearby Sierra National Forest campgrounds, visit www.fs.fed.us. Look at the campgrounds under Sky Ranch Road, Sierra Vista Scenic Byway and South of Yosemite. About Camp Green Meadows Jack L. Boyd Outdoor School is a week-long residential outdoor science and environmental education program for 5th and 6th grade students from schools throughout Central California. The Green Meadows facility is at the edge of Yosemite Park and also serves as a conference and retreat center.

  Old Timer's Day in the Park - Madera
This event is held on the last Saturday in September, activities commence at 12:00 noon, immediately following the parade at Courthouse Park with a BBQ with local service clubs and other community groups hosting food and craft booths. At the museum, the King and Queen will greet visitors. Judging for the longest beard, shortest beard, mustache only and most unique will take place in the park following the parade. Booth spaces for food and crafts are available by contacting Bob Winslow at (559) 675-7715. Applications are also available at the Madera County Museum and the Madera Chamber of Commerce.
