Knowledgeable staff and volunteers will help you find answers to questions, locate attractions and find lodging if you need it. FREE travelers coffee, tea and water are always available. We can help you get where you want to be.
Our extensive library of maps, articles, books and charts cover almost every subject and areas all over California. We can give you up to the minute reports on road conditions and the latest forecasts for weather in the Sierra Nevada. Many of our volunteer Information Specialists have lived in the region long enough and have explored enough to have a wealth of knowledge from personal experience. If you want to know what the "locals" do, you need to stop here.
U.S. Forest Service staff are available from May to October to issue Wilderness Permits and fuel wood cutting permits. All backpackers should stop and check-in for the latest backcountry conditions even if a permit was secured in advance. Detailed topographical maps, hiking guides and brochures are also available.
Yosemite National Park provides a trained intern from June to August for detailed questions you might have. Yosemite Seven Day and Annual Passes can be purchased year-round before you get to the Park gates at our Visitors Center, saving you time as you enter on Southern Yosemite Highway 41.
Our 24 hr. Information Kiosk has FREE direct dial access to local lodging, attractions and travel services. Brochures and copies of our regional Visitors Guide are also available 24/7.
