When you combine the fertile soils of the San Joaquin Valley and the Sierra Nevada Foothills with the nearly two centuries of wine making experience of the region's residents, it's easy to see why the wines of Madera County fare so well in competitions around the country and beyond.

The Madera Wine Trail hosts events throughout the year, or you can tour the trail on your own, finding wines randing from full- bodied reds to bright whites and even amazing aperitifs.
