Winter Wonderland

Winter is a special time in Yosemite and Madera County.

If you're looking to experience snow, the high country has ample opportunities:   tubing, snowboarding, sledding, and ice skating; relaxing at beautiful snow- covered Bass Lake; wine tasting along the Madera Wine Trail.  You'll make lifelong memories with your family during the winter months.

Winter inside Yosemite National Park offers lots to see and do...

Tenaya Lodge offers an array of winter activities from ice skating at the lodge to snow shoe adventures and sleigh rides.  For more information go to:  www.tenayalodge.com/Winter-Activities.aspx.

Bass Lake is a winter wonderland after the snow falls.  Beautiful and accessible you can relax in your spa suite overlooking the lake at The Pines Resort, hike around the shores of the lake, enjoy a hot toddy at Ducey's on the Lake.  You may even see the resident Bald Eagles fishing in the lake!

On the other hand, if you're looking to escape the snow where you live, Madera County offers the perfect chance for that as well. Tour the wineries of the Madera Wine Trail, visit Home Grown Cellars to try fresh pomegranate juice or take in the beauty of the butterfly house. The heat will be on at the Fossil Discovery Center - if it's even needed.

If you're looking to find winter, or to escape, Madera County has you set.
