Ackerson Meadow & Crane Flat ~ Birding and Bats with the Yosemite Conservancy

On this guided weekend adventure, you’ll experience springtime beauty in two diverse Yosemite habitats: Ackerson Meadow and Crane Flat. During daylight hours, join a naturalist guide to look for bright wildflowers, lush grasses and signs of songbirds. As you listen for chirps and trills, you’ll learn about Yosemite’s long-running songbird research program, which collects data to help protect avian species throughout and beyond the park.

In the evening, you’ll explore the habits and habitats of another kind of airborne creature: bats. Learn how Yosemite’s flying mammals use echolocation to navigate after dark, and about the critical role they play in park ecosystems. You’ll end the weekend with a better understanding of Yosemite’s meadows and the species they support.
