Program Overview:  The climate is changing, humans are the cause, and the shift is impacting the world around us in ways we still don’t fully understand. Even the protected environment in Yosemite National Park is feeling the effects of climate change.

Many of the park’s most dedicated scientists and staff are studying how the warming of our planet is affecting Yosemite’s ecosystems, landscapes and weather patterns. How is climate change impacting glaciers and snowfall, wildfires, and the plants and animals that rely on the park’s protected habitat? This Yosemite Field School program offers the chance to hear from a variety of guest speakers, including experienced naturalists and National Park Service scientists, on an array of topics related to climate change. Over the course of three sessions of guided walks and presentations (Thursday afternoon/evening, Friday, and Saturday morning), you’ll learn about the latest research and get tips on ways you can help, including how to discuss climate change in your communities.
