Yosemite Renaissance 38 ~ Art Exhibit

Yosemite Renaissance 38 Event image

WELCOME TO YOSEMITE RENAISSANCE 38

YOSEMITE RENAISSANCE ENCOURAGES ARTISTS TO SHARE THEIR EXPRESSIONS OF YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK AND THE CALIFORNIA SIERRA NEVADA.

The nexus of the exhibit is Yosemite, but the scope of the show is much wider. The California Sierra Nevada range is home to three national parks, twenty wilderness areas, and two national monuments. The scope of the show includes Sequoia National Park, Kings Canyon, Sierra National Forest, Ansel Adams Wilderness, Lake Tahoe Mono Lake, Bodie, the White Mountains, regional foothills, and regional communities. The area is huge, consisting of hundreds of thousands of acres of rugged peaks, deep valleys, forests, chaparral, deserts, lakes and streams.

Yosemite Renaissance was founded in 1985 to "motivate artists to develop diverse interpretations of Yosemite and its varied landscapes."

For over 150 years, artists have played an important role in the establishment of our state and national parks, inspiring people to visit iconic natural sites, and to protect our natural resources. Yosemite Renaissance is dedicated to this ideal.

For 2023, Yosemite Renaissance opens in Oakhurst at Gallery 5 in the Yosemite Gateway Art Center on Saturday, March 18th, 2023 with a reception from 5-8 PM.  The exhibit will be open at Gallery 5 through May 28th.  It then travels to other locations in the region.
