Wednesday Night Lecture
Fresno Flats Historic Village & Park
Wednesday, May 7
Since the establishment of the Stockton-Los Angeles Road in 1853, the Sierra Nevada foothills of what is now Madera County have been a hub of highway development.
Tom Fearer (a local highway history enthusiast from Gibblenation.org) will share his wealth of knowledge about the local highway systems.
The area was of great interest during the early State Highway era due to the desirable access it could provide for logging interests and automotive-based recreational travel to Yosemite National Park.
The doors open at 5:30 p.m. for snacks and to meet our speaker. The lecture starts at 6:30 p.m. sharp.
Note the new meeting day, Wednesday!
