Registration required, $75 per person.
Join artist Sally Kent at the Yosemite Gateway Art Center for a cozy, creative workshop and learn how to craft beautiful handmade felt lanterns — the perfect project to brighten up the holiday season!
Designed especially for beginners, this fun, hands-on session explores technique, texture, and the magical interplay of light and felt. Participants will enjoy shaping soft wool into glowing lanterns that add warmth and charm to any winter evening.
What to bring:
A cookie sheet with a lip
Two dish towels (preferably terry cloth)
A water container (about 3-cup capacity, large enough for your hands)
A large sponge
A rolling pin
A small dish to hold a bar of soap (soap provided)
A pair of small embroidery scissors
(Some equipment may be available to borrow — call ahead to make arrangements.)
All other materials for the lanterns, including the tea light, will be provided. Come ready to roll up your sleeves, get a little soapy, and leave with a glowing creation that captures the spirit of the season!
