FISH CAMP, CA—The Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad announces the return of the Yosemite Jazz Train for the 2025 season with Tommy Castro & The Pain Killers kicking off the series on May 18. This unforgettable experience blends world-class live jazz with a scenic journey through the Sierra National Forest.
Scheduled on select Sundays from May 18 through October 12, 2025, the Jazz Train invites guests to step back in time aboard the historic open-air steam train and enjoy performances from top-tier jazz musicians. The evening begins at 3:00 PM with an array of complimentary appetizers and local libations available for purchase at the bar, followed by a train ride to the Lewis Creek amphitheater for an incredible outdoor concert surrounded by towering pines and stars.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the railroad’s charming Thornberry Museum, try gold panning, explore the Kids Depot Toy Store, and stroll through the gift shop for souvenirs. A jacket or blanket should be brought for the cooler afternoon in the shady forest.
Located just minutes from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park, the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad celebrates 60 years of train rides in the Sierra National Forest this year! The railroad proudly offers daily scenic train rides on The Logger from April to November and regular special event rides, including the Yosemite Jazz Train, Moonlight Special, and Moonlight Melodrama.
