Oakhurst Spirits

At Oakhurst Spirits, our destination distillery model is geared towards the new agro-tourism movement, creating another reason for Yosemite visitors to stop and stay in Oakhurst. We will offer free tours of the distillery, and guests will be invited to purchase a tasting of 6 craft products, served in 1/4 oz pours.

Distilleries have a symbiotic relationship with local wineries and breweries, as wines can be distilled into brandy, and beers can be distilled into whiskey, and barrels can be used interchangeably to enhance the flavors of any of the three products.

The distilling process is quiet and the slight aromas (like baking bread) remain inside the distillery.

Our adjacent 1000 sq ft Art Gallery and Gift Shop will offer tasting glasses, t-shirts, hats, etc. bearing the Oakhurst Spirits logo, along with fine art created by local and internationally known artists.

Owners Mike and Ally Benbrook have 40+ years experience in business, as owners of WebbShade, a manufacturing business near San Diego, and Studio 16B, an art gallery in Balboa Park. Ally is a well-known artist, having been invited to display her work in exhibitions throughout the US, Canada, and China. Mike is a retired USN Chief Petty Officer, and is a member of the American Distilling Institute, the California Artisanal Distillers Guild, and the American Craft Spirits Association.

The Benbrooks believe in sourcing all their supplies from local businesses, and have been active as Rotarians and donors to local charities. They look forward to this same involvement in our mountain community in and around Oakhurst.
