Discover What’s New in Yosemite’s Southern Gateway for 2026
Big news from Yosemite! In 2026, Yosemite National Park will not require vehicle reservations for entry, even during peak travel dates.
After carefully reviewing 2025 traffic patterns, parking availability, and overall visitor trends, park leadership determined that a season-long reservation system will not be necessary next year. While reservations are being phased out, the park will continue implementing strong traffic management strategies to support visitor safety, improve access, and protect Yosemite’s extraordinary natural resources.
The vehicle entrance fee will remain $35 per vehicle for seven consecutive days. To help reduce wait times at entrance stations, visitors are strongly encouraged to purchase their digital park pass in advance.
Tips for a Smooth Visit:
- For the best parking availability and a more relaxed experience, plan to arrive early in the morning or later in the afternoon.
- Want real-time updates? Text YOSEMITE to 333111 to receive live parking information and important park updates directly to your phone.
