Hiking Trails inside Yosemite | Glacier Point Area

   Yosemite, CA

Moderate Hikes

Sentinel Dome2.2 miles round trip
Climb to the top of this granite dome for 360° panoramic views of Yosemite’s high country—including Half Dome and El Capitan. Short, sweet, and incredibly rewarding.

Taft Point & the Fissures2.2 miles round trip
Enjoy dramatic cliffside views of Yosemite Valley and the dizzying Fissures—deep cracks in the granite with sheer 3,000-foot drops. A must-see, but watch children closely.

Sentinel Dome to Taft Point Loop5 miles round trip
Combine two incredible overlooks in one scenic loop. Start toward Sentinel Dome for a gradual ascent, then enjoy a mostly downhill route to Taft Point and back through meadows and forest. Can be hiked in either direction.

Easy Hikes

McGurk Meadow2 miles round trip
A gentle forest walk to a serene, flower-filled meadow. Wildflowers bloom in summer, and the return is slightly uphill. Peaceful and perfect for a short nature escape.

Moderate to Strenuous Hikes

Dewey Point8 miles round trip
Trek through forest and meadow to reach one of the most breathtaking overlooks of Yosemite Valley. A rewarding day hike with fewer crowds and big payoff.

Panorama Trail8.5 miles one-way | 16 miles round trip
An epic trek that lives up to its name. Starting from Glacier Point, descend past Illilouette Falls, climb up to Nevada Fall, and finish in Yosemite Valley. Choose your descent via the Mist Trail (steep and dramatic) or the John Muir Trail (longer and more gradual). Ideal in spring, summer, or fall.
